EM Albania - Union for the Mediterranean: How is Albania catching the opportunities?, 15 March 2010

European Movement in Albania (EMA) in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Spanish Embassy in Albania supported by Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) has the pleasure to invite you in the series of policy forum on European Integration on 15 March 2010 in Tirana (Agenda).

On 5-6 November 2007 in Lisbon, the Euro-Mediterranean Ministerial Conference decided to accept Albania to become a full member of the Barcelona Process, later evolved into Union for the Mediterranean. Does this decision to join the Union for the Mediterranean constitute an alternative or a replacement to European integration of the country? How would this decision affect the European path of the country? Which are the opportunities to be considered?

These are the questions, which pushed forward the idea to organize a Policy Forum and discuss in depth the alternatives but also the opportunities.

Participants in the panel include: H.E. Mr. Ilir Meta, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Albania, H. E. Mr. Manuel Montobbio, Ambassador of Spain in Albania, Mr. Virgjil Muci, National Coordinator of the Union for Mediterranean, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Remzi Lani, Executive Director of Albanian Media Institute and Mr. Gledis Gjipali Executive Director of European Movement in Albania.
